Is this a lot of food??

:) I like taking photos. Asked by maggie_short 29 days ago, 10 answers.

Okay so today I've eaten two slices of pizza, 13 almonds, 5 dried apricots, and 2 crackers each with a teaspoon of cheese on top. Is this too much food for me to eat in a day??

Uhm.. no.
Almonds, apricots and crackers are SNACKS.
You need to eat wholesome meals. The snacks you are eating are good for you, but you still need to eat actual meals.

depends.

when did you eat each slice of pizza?

I could divide all of that food into a healthy 5 meals, if I seperate the pizza into 2 seperate meals, opposite times of the day.

everything but the pizza are snacks, not meals
and its definantly not enough food to sustain you for a day
you need to be eating more, at least another 2 MEALS

People eat pounds and greasy pounds of food every day, and then complain about their exhausted and swollen digestive systems. The more food you eat, the more energy it takes to process and assimilate the 30-40% of the total mass you eat. Processing the rest (60-70%) and either storing all the fat out of it or sending it down the tube as extraneous waste expends a good portion of the nutrients you just absorbed. I take one healthy solid crap every day, because I eat moderately and work hard (exercise).
In the morning around 7:00, I drink water and eat a small muffin or some toast before I go to work. When I leave the shop after being dispatched for the days tasks, I stop at a store and get a pint of water, a cup of black coffee, and some kind of inexpensive and simple deli item like a sandwich or some chicken, usually about 9:00am. From there I don't eat anything until around 6:00pm, when I eat a complete meal with a pint of beer.

My body mass index is 23 and my work keeps me fit and healthy. I never feel tired or hungry, and I'm gaining strength steadily.

All I'm trying to say is that people should eat when they feel bad, and stop eating when they feel better. Otherwise, all that extra food will only strain your system. People have different metabolisms, and you should learn yours well by paying attention to what you eat and why you eat it... and when!

the amount your eating is not healthy then.

if you split the pizza for say lunch, and dinner. then were talking. the rest you ate could be considered a seperate meal.

you should be eating 5-6 small meals a day.

and a slice of pizza could be considered a meal.

I would suggest you add 2 apples in between, and maybe a sandwich of some sort, hopefully with meat in it aswell.

then thats healthy eating.

all the other people telling you its not enough could be right, but then again, they lack nutritional education, and overdose everything daily. thats what america does.

in france a simple hamburger from mcdonalds, is already 3 times bigger what a hamburger is over there. are they doing fine? sure are. so the excess 2/3 of the hamburger we eat over here isnt needed. see my point.

america is fat.

eat when your hungry until your not hungry anymore. if you get hungry again later, eat til you arent no more.

simple. and effective. dont allow gluteny to be part of your life.

This is not too much food, but quite an imbalanced diet. You need plenty of fresh veges and fruit, with whole grain bread, muffins, pasta. Dried fruit is fine, for the fiber, but it can be too much as it is sweet, little and it is too easy to eat too much. Nuts are good, about 1/4 c is a serving, and they are a fine source of vit E. If you are trying to loose weight, you must eat a balanced diet, and watch your portion size. Small snacks between meals help you not to pig out. Avoid extra sweets and fatty foods (fried especially), and use olive oil to sautee in, or canola oil, just enough to coat the botom of the pan. Mal nutrition can cause cravings and damage your body.

I dont believe people actually count the food they eat??? isnt there enough literature on the subject of eating... we eat to live not live to eat, it is a necessary fuel although an enjoyable one, please becareful people about developing some kind of eating disorder! I think we all know what our daily calories should be for male female that doesnt mean you have to adhere to them strictly, they are there as guide lines as everyones metabolism is slightly different. :-)
