Is there a way to gain muscle?

Okay, so I'm not going to bore you with a long story, but here it goes.

I'm 16 and a half years old and I plan on enlisting in the Marines after graduation. This has been a 'fantasy' if you will, since 6th grade, but it faded away as I became a computer...

guy. My school does these future career path presentations and so I signed up to see some as a Sophomore, Web Publishing and Marine Corps. ROTC.

Well, the Web Publisher bailed at the last minute, so ROTC was the only one. Eh, it'll get me out of class. So, I went and after hearing his speech and presentation, I felt moved. He gave me his contact information and I left after that.

That was in November 2008. In February 2009, I decided to go for it. I chose my goal MOS and I tried to figure out a way to workout. In April I started working out.

Well, I workout 5 days a week and I had a few questions to ask. My MOS I want is 0311 Infantry Rifleman or 0321 Recon Man. I do every body part split into 5 days and I'm wondering what do I have to change to develope bigger muscle, not toned muscle? How many days or weeks do I have to this to achieve bigger muscle, not toned muscle?

I assume you're already lifting weights. A good way to add more mass through weightlifting is by changing what you lift. Free weights are really the best, so instead of using a Bowflex type machine or bench-press, go for dumbbells. The greater range in motion is what you want, because it involves more muscles and therefore gives better results.

You might also need to optimize your sets. If you're not looking for body-builder mass, you should go 10 to 12 sets of 3 to 5 reps. Don't work more than 2 parts of your body in a day or you'll be over worked and stop growing.

You could also look into taking some supplements. Remember proteins are essential to muscle, so if you're not eating lean red meats then you need to work it into your diet (rule of thumb: about 1-1.5 times your body weight in protein). If you seem to not gain any muscle, try adding 200-250 calories to your diet.

I drink protein, creatine, arginine, and glutamine before and after working out. I was just wondering if there was a way to modigy what I do, or drink more, but end up fat.

dont waste your money on creatine
go buy
black powder http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3532847
if you take that it makes creatine look like shi*

creatine doesnt make your muscles bigger permanently only for a little bit until you workout, wit black powder you will get big as hell while you workout, you will be stronger, you can go a lot heavier do more reps more sets, barely get tired after a set

when you wake up you take a protein shake
after your workout you take a protein shake and before you go to sleep you take a protein shake

eat tunafish like for lunch 1 can of it

I'll try more sets and more protein. I currently do 5 sets of 15-20 reps, so maybe 8-10 sets of 6-10 reps should help, right? I do lift weights, and I prefer free weights over machines only because I feel the machine does 70% of the work for you.

I never heard of Black Powder before, but I'll get some on my way back.

You also have to change your workout constantly. If you keep doing the same thing over and over again your muscle will get use to it and you wont grow as much any more. keep your muscles guessing by changing the amount of weight and reps you do that way your muscle keeps on ripping and grows effectivly hope this helps good luck with getting big
