The Bible is the Word of God, but men wrote with inspiration from God. and the serpent was talking because Satan took the form of a serpent, and when God found out that He tricked Adam and Eve(which he knew would happen from the beginning) into eating the fruit, he made it so the serpent had to crawl on it's stomach.

Do you believe in the Bible?

No!

In contrast to believing in the Bible, I believe:

1. That God is that Creative/Causative Force that exists before the beginning of the universe/time and continues to exist outside of the universe and time.

2. That Force created/caused the spiritual/soul entities to come into being.

3. The spiritual/soul entities continued the Creation with the Big Bang. And, through evolution and possibly subtle manipulations, have caused the current state of affairs.

4. The spirits/souls choose to inhabit the various physical bodies that they have created in order to experience physical reality.

5. When bodies die the spirit/soul continues to exist and often times reincarnates into another body in order to continue its growth.

6. The purpose of it all is for the spirits/souls (entities) to gain knowledge and experience and to ultimately rejoin or evolve back into the Oneness of God.

The Bible is a book of history and guidance for peoples of certain times. The Old Testament was meant for the societies and peoples of ancient times. The New Testament was meant to change much of the Old Testament law and to guide the society and people of two thousand years ago.

The Bible worked during the time periods it was meant to cover. Its guidance protected the people and gave value and purpose to their lives.

The problem is that the Bible was meant for past eras and was successful therein. It, however, did not keep up with the times and technologies during the advancement of mankind.

There may still be some lessons that can be learned from studying the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. But, the lessons must be tempered with the knowledge that exists in the current time period.

Man and his technology has evolved considerably since Biblical times. The Bible has not evolved accordingly. It is therefore the province of man to interpret the whole Bible and attempt to allow its relevant parts to fit into the lifestyles of the current era.

As long as they do not infringe on the rights of others, men are free to follow the teachings of the Bible for themselves. Your rights and beliefs end where mine begin.

The Bible is a crutch which is necessary for some but not for all. It is a book written by men with the purpose of helping to guide other men through some of the pitfalls that life has to offer. It is also meant to give hope and purpose to those who may have no other way of finding same.

Just as with other fictional works, it is not meant to be taken literally but parabolically. Parts of its historical accounts may be factual while other parts are symbolic. And, yet other parts are simply devices wherein to protect the health and well-being of people of that era.

It takes many religions to give guidance to those who are in need of direction. Some use the Bible as their basis while others use other Books. They all serve a needed purpose. They all benefit the society of man.

Just because the Bible (or some other Book) is right for you does not mean or make it right for everyone else. The human race is a diverse species. It has many different cultures and Beliefs. Grant to each their right to choose that which fits them.

Jeez! everyone always asks questions like this! Here is my answer: If you are a christian, the bible is the word of god. If you have a brain, the bible is a contradictory fairy story. Decide yourself.

It does NOT matter what we were taught as children, or what the majority is following, or what our emotional feelings lead us to think or believe. Those factors are perfectly invalid as a test of absolute truth. The ultimate question must be answered: What does the Word of God say on the subject?

Some people think that if they are sincere in what they believe, God will accept them and save them. But sincerity alone is not enough. One can be sincere, and be sincerely wrong.

God's Word has a lot to say to those who are willing to be corrected. The people to be most pitied are those who have closed minds. They will resist any information which varies from their personal views. Their minds are made up, and they don't want to be bothered by the facts.

In these final days right before the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, the wicked will out number the true followers of God hundreds to one. Every available source of information reveals that in religious matters, at least, the majority has always been wrong. Jesus Himself said, And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. Luke 17:26. Only eight people went into the ark to be saved from the flood.

Christ taught that only a comparable few would be saved at the end of the world. Said He, Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14.

Truth has never been popular with the masses. And those in the majority today, as in all past ages, are not really looking for truth as much as they are looking for a smooth, easy, comfortable religion which will allow them to live as they please.

The Holy Word of God, the Bible, was written by good men, inspired by God.

Millions of Christians down thru the ages have believed the bible to be the inspired word of God, given as an example for us to live by.

Multitudes have given their lives because of the faith that they had in the words within the pages of the bible.

Much sacrifice has gone into printing this book, into the diff. languages of the world, so that all could hear the Good news.

Christians down thru the ages have guarded this book with their lives.

And last but certainly not least... It works.

Have you tried it?

Have you read it?

If not, how about starting with the book of John, in the New Test.

Asking God, to open your eyes, and your understanding to the truth.

God be with you.,

If no-one had told you it was the word of any god, and you picked it up and started reading it, you'd probably shake your head and toss it aside when you got to the talking snake part in Genesis.

It's so obviously written by superstitious ancient men with a propaganda agenda, that it's amazing this type of question gets asked at all, let alone as often as it does.

It's a very fascinating and insightful collection of writings from several centuries. It has stories, poems, letters of advice, historical records, moral analysis, and much more. It is one of the pivotal books in Western civilization.

However, in my opinion, it is purely the work of man.

Christians tend to believe it was written by men that were guided by God.
