Is talking about other people behind their backs bad?

recently loads of people in my year have just been constantly b*tching. its the main topic of their conversation. if I b*tch about people does that make me a bad person? although I dont really mean half the things I say.

It's pretty normal for girls at about your age to go throught the b*tchiest stage of their lives - I remember it very well myself and the only good thing I can say is that it doesn't last much longer. By the late teens I guess hormones are settling down and people are less cruel behind other peoples' backs. If you join in it doesn't mean you're going to be like that all your life, but it does mean you'll be just as miserable as everyone else is for the next year or so. In my experience you stay happier by keeping your cruel thoughts to yourself - you feed them by talking about them. Don't know if that helps... Hope so... Best of luck.

Going through the same thing here - What I've learnt is to just keep them to yourselves. Girls now are usually going through the most b*tchiest and weirdest time of their Lives. Don't talk behind other peoples' backs because it usually only leads to trouble. Let others talk, you can't stop it from happening. But before you yap around about rumors or gossip, just tell yourself it's better to be quiet.

haha. I b*tch all teh time, especially about the people who usedta be my friends and stuff. basically it doesnt make you a bad person compared 2 everyone else around, but it isnt exactly good that you do it. I no that I prob shud stop...

Yeah, it gives a fun topic of conv. *shrug* the only problem is when people take it to the next level, or take it seriously. You cant be to anal these days.

Well b*tching about someone behind their back is being a coward, in my eyes. You should just say it to their face. That is if you really mean it. But if you don't mean it, then don't say it.

Yes...I believe that if you have something to say about someone say it to their face...Why hide? Only cowards hide...

I think its like quite normal to b*itch at this age I mean everyone does it. it sometimes feels good to get it off your chest if you dont want a confrontation or you could just say it to their face.

I would say that it is bad. Because if you are talking behind their back (gossiping) then that means they cannot defend themselves against what is being said about them. I think if you have you something to say about someone say it to their faces. However, we are human beings and we all have faults, and I know sometimes gossiping is done unintentionally.
