I meet a girl tonight. She seemed nice and has got a plan layed out for her life. We hit it off and I think she likes me as much as she likes me. The only catch is she is 10 years younger than me. I'm 28 and she is 18. Her family didn't seem to have a prob with it. Is she too young.

...yes, yes she is. I generally find it creepy when someone as old as you (no offense, but you ARE pushing thirty) are attracted to relatively young girls. There's usually different interests and different priorities, and even if she has her life planned out... people change. No one should date anyone ten years older than he/she is until he/she is at least twenty-five.

Plus, you just met her. People always seem nice on the first day - and then you get to know them. So I'll just settle with saying: she's too much of a stranger for you. At least be her friends first.

Dear joshr,
Since she is the age of consent in the eyes of the law your dating would be acceptable. But time can only tell...her parents may be fine with it thinking that an older person may set a good example with her and show her how important a stable life for the future is. You must keep in mind that she would be probably going to college or university with people her own age and would be wanting to experience a life that normal 18 year olds do with parties and dating. In fact you should be encouraging her to attend school (the right thing to do) but feel pulled that you are putting her into a situation that may cause her to want to experience life to the fullest.
I always think it is wise to hold off on any committed relationship till both have gone through their full education and experienced natural progression.
Sue...good luck

As long as she's old enough to be having anything to do with you, then there's no problem with any age difference...may that be 10 months, 10 years or 20 years. If there's a connection between two people, don't let it slip away because it may be the best thing that could happen to you.

Well, she IS of the legal age, so no.
But in good morals , she's WAY too young for you.
But if she makes you happy, it's okay I guess.

I think it is okay, and you should persue something with
her if she feels the same. I don't think its TOO young,
as long as its legal. Even better with the whole parents
thing. Good luck.

If you two find your relationship OK, then it is OK. For her a 28 yo old man a big and good school, for you a 18 yo girl is a present from the God. Say thanks for her, and value the time with her.

I'm 18 (almost 19) and my boyfriend is 23. My mom told me she was dating my dad when if she was 18 he would have been 25... That's not too too bad... If everyone you and her care about don't have a problem with it, and she is mature and thinks she can handle you, then try it. Don't get too attached too soon in case, younger minds tend to not know what they want, especially in relationships. My boyfriend was worried about that at first but now knows I'm perfectly happy with him, and we may last a long time. Don't worry for now, especially if no one close to you both have issues with it, she'll be older soon too!
