Is sex with a family memeber illegal

I have had sex with a cousin, she is an adult and I am an adult so why would it matter?

Laws don't always fallow logic, they sometimes fallow societies moral beliefs. Theoretically having consensual sex with your cousin is not a problem but socially speaking you might hit a moral wall. Most poeple in the USA believe having sex with your cousin is equal to incest when in reality many poeple around the world marry and have healthy children with their cousins. As far as I could find out it is not illegal to have sex with your cousin though marrying might be a problem depending on which state you live in. For more detailed legal information call your local District Attorney.

You don't think it's disgusting to have sex with members of your family? The reason why at least from a practical point of view it's a big no-no is because any offspring need as much genetic variation as possible. Okay more likely than not as cousins there wouldn't be health problems with the child. But, it's still bloody sick. Why do I have even have to explain this. There is seriously something wrong with you if you act on any sexual desire for family members.

I have to agree with slavaim by saying Eeewwie! Even if it was legal, and even if you weren't going to procreate and cause problems for future children... why would you ever WANT to have sex with a family member??
