earing in and then put the ring in about 5 days later. But this time. I had it. And I attempted to put it in the 1st two days of having it but they wouldnt fit through (I sterolized my needle the right way but not so sure about the jewlery concern there) So now I have a earing back in it. I did it on saturday and it is now monday and well my lip is SUPER swollen. The back is digging into my skin so that hurts and its like when I go to sleep like a headache it gets worse and when I get up it goes down again. I have a little of the regular puss and I clean it with Sea Salt Water (the one you get at actually piercing shops) Im wondering if its too early to tell and I should sit tight or if im screwed...

any redness or anything like that is from the stud being too short and digging into my skin from the swelling just fyi. Im going to try and connect a pic so you can see.

The pain is coming from you not having the proper jewelry in the piercing. Having a earring in a lip piercing will cause pain and discomfort. You need to get the proper rings to put in it soon!

It's normal to feel some digging in, because of the swelling. That should go away within a week or two with the proper jewelry in it.

thx for the advice and yea id put the proper in like I said but its so swollen it wont fit!! and since I mest with it so much it wont work.. so its like I have no choice till it goes down and im wondering if it will...my left side was FINE with the earing in.

Yes, if proper jewelry does not work you should so see someone who is more expeirenced with peircings.

if I should wait a while before I surrender to a mistake. I mean I got it right the 1st time. So maybe everyone else is scaring me and making me paranoid.

It doesn't sound like it's infected. I used to work at a piercing/tattoo parlor. If it's infected, a lot of puss will come out of it, with an odor to it.

just make sure and clean ,clean with prioxide

ok practically I didnt get the first part,but the sewlling is normal it can be from 2-14 days...I call it fish lips,I still remember when I was talking like frankenstein

My friend pierced mine, we just bought a piercing needle from the mall. The next day the pierced side was about 3 times bigger. It is just part of the healing process, because we had the prooper jewelry and all. Some people just react differently.

Well I got my done by professional(snake bites) when he did it he had a spray bottle filled with sea salt and warm water he had the needle and jewlery wet with the salt.So then he made me used mouth wash and dont drink water after he pierced it and that was it. ok so the first day it didnt hurt. first couple days it was swollen bad. So I put ice on it and that helped. Puss shouldn't come out. Well it looks like puss but it's just dead cells and thats normal. It started coming out inside my mouth then outside so. Just clean your mouth with sea salt 3 times a day. hands are clean and try not to touch it with your hands.Also if your piercings are itching then it's healing. If you are haveing bleeding problem brusing and its painful than talk to a doctor or a professional.

DO NOT USE PEROXIDE!!! or alcohol... both can harm or kill the tissues that are trying to heal. Try to stay away from mouthwashes that contain alcohol.

Its totally infected,
its actually really weird I have my lip side peirced and I put a diamond stud earring because I thoyght it looked rad.
So Then it wouldnt fit.I PPUSHED IT THROUGH.it got swolen but then a wwek or two later it went back to normal.
its infected but itll be over,

yeah I did the same thing...I have the metal back on the inside of my lip..and it is taring up the inside of my lip and yeah it hurts... actually...it is just a little red...there is not much puss coming out of it at all..well thank you for your story!!..it made me feel like a lot better...the stud is too short...so tomarrow im going to Hot Topic and getting a stud...Thanks again!!!

ahh this really helped me too. I just pierced my own lip on friday with a piercing earring and switched it to a diamond stud saturday and now it's all swollen but it doesn't really hurt or anything. and the back is kid of digging into my lip because it is so swollen and I was really nervous because I kept reading how people said its really bad to do it with an earring but I guess ill stick it out awhile and see how it heals
