Is making a child sleep on a sofa abuse?

The only abuse that I'd think you can cause a child by making them sleep on a sofa is if the sofa was made of brick or broken.
If you aren't wealthy enough to afford a bed for your child there is nothing wrong with a child sleeping on a sofa. Just try to make sure the child sleeps alone, and is old enough to be able to roll over and carry his or her own breathing.
also, make sure your child isn't allergic to the fabric, or anything that may have been on that couch.
