I think that if you are with someone you can see yourself with when your 80 and you love them and you and your partner are both willing to do the work then yes love can last forever. but if your just with someone cause it's something to do then it's probably not going to last to long.
People in high school, junior high, and even grown adults say I love you not knowing whats at the end of the tunnel. You cant look ahead and see if something is meant to be or if the love will last forever. You do your best to keep the relationship but you just cant determine the outcome. So if people say I love you, they usually mean it and they would like to stay with that person as long as possible or as long as the other person is willing to keep them.
Octobersun, But you are 27 y/o and you have never been in love yet? Maybe it's because you look just like a banana. (just kidding hun) I think 'true love' lasts forever but I seriously doubt if very many high school students have experienced true love. IMO, it's mostly they're in heat or just have a crush.
Oh. I'm not 27, I put my birthday in wrong. But there isn't anything wrong with never being in love at an older age. Right? What if you just haven't met the right person? My cousin is almost 30 and he says he has never been in love because he hasn't met the right woman yet. There's nothing wrong with him, in my opinion.

Is love forever?
So many people in high school say they love each other and will love each other forever. Will they really? I mean, how do you know what you want after high school. I just don't think I can love forever yet.
