Is it weird to love older music?

Asked by beatlesgeek13 4 months ago, 13 answers.

Is it weird to be into 60s. 70s and 80s music? I'm 13 years old and I LOVE The Beatles, Hendrix and Guns N' Roses! Well, we had to do group work in Citizenship and discuss our favourite type of music and I said I loved The Beatles and everyone laughed...

at me -_- they said I have no taste in music and that I should listen to Hannah Montana and all that...?
I'm confused :S ...is it weird to love older music?

no, not at all
I love that music too
in fact I've loved it since way before I was 13, and im 19 now and still love it
everyone has a different taste in music
some people love really old music, some love only new music, some love all kinds of music, some dont like music at all, and some only like music from there country/culture
so it doesnt matter what music you like, theres nothing wrong with it
its just YOUR music taste
and if people laugh at you there just wasting there time
theres always going to be someone who doesnt like your music taste
and the people who made fun of it? well theres always going to be someone who doesnt like there music taste as well

No! Actually the groups you mentioned show that you have impeccable taste in music. These groups mentioned helped define the music we listen to today. (Michael Jackson would also need to be included in here as well)

Others may laugh--bet they're listening to screamo. (=

To me it sounds weird to like music that someone else enjoys especially if you didn't like it, That is why there is so many different types of music because it would stink if we had to listen to the music that others wanted to listen to all the time.
The only thing that should matter is that YOU like it.

Good music is good music, it doesn't really matter how old it is or what other people think. The artists you like have survived the test of time for a reason. Hannah Montana and The Jonas Brothers will be like MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice someday. lol happy

Old music is the best! Even though there are some good songs out these days the majority of them shouldn't even be called music! People like Hannah Montanna and The Jonas Brothers Just ruin music!

I really take after my dad, even his music tastes. Honestly, I'd prefer music from The Beatles, David Bowie, Bad Company, Queen, Tears For Fears, Michael Jackson etc than music from the likes of Britney Spears, Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers, Christina Aguilera any day!

Back then music could actually be called REAL music! Now it's all computerised voices and sh*t. Your friends clearly have no taste in music if they prefer all that Disney garbage to REAL music!
