Is it true that if you read in the dark or a dark lit room it will ruin your eyes and if so how and why

yes, the dark does ruin your eyes. when you do just about anything in the dark that involves your eyes like, playing games, reading, etc. will put strain on your eyes. this causes the inner eye to tighten, which becomes very uncomfortable as you stay in the dark. this can lead to fatigue, red eyes, eye strain, pain in or around the eyes, also causes blurred vision, headaches and occasional double vision. looking at stuff in the dark does not leaves your eyes this way permanantly thats for sure. well, I hope I helped on your question.
