is it too late to start ballet at 13 years old?

I am 13 years old and I would really like to start ballet. I have done dance before but never ballet. My question is, is it to late to start?

No way! If you want to do it, Go for it!!! Just do what makes you happy, it doesn't matter how old you are! =)

Go ahead and start. I didn't start ballroom til 16 so it's never too late to do something you want to do.

I did ballet when I was little and I stopped, but last year I wanted to try it again, I was 14 when I wanted to retry it, and now im really good. GO FOR IT!

No it's not too late at all. I decided I wanted to take hip hop and jazz classes when I was 15. If you want to do it put your mind in it and do the best you can and have fun!! :]

I started dancing ballet when I was 6. and continued until like... 14. and now I'm 16 and I just started back up, and I'm doing greeat.
so. if I can get into it at 16, then 13 definately isn't to late to start. plus at my old art school wealways had girls first starting out and they were like 14 or 15.
oh and also, if you have other dnce experience then you have a better chance of doing good. so I say go for it. if its something that you want. then don't let somethig like age stop you.

ok you basically start whenever you want. But if you want to go pro your too late. I've taken ballet all my life but I dont want to go pro. Ballerinas start official training at a very young age because it takes years to get up to their point. But if it's just for fun go for it!

I definitely don't want to go pro. I just need some physical activity and something fun to do. Thanks for your help. I just signed up. Classes start August 18. Thanks!

If it is going to make you happy, go for it. Ballet is very physically and mentally demanding. I don't know if you are doing this recreationally and only training a few days a week or doing this very seriously and training three-six hours a day. Whichever you do, relax and have fun and never lose the joy of dancing!
