Amen!! I feel your pain.
I think the 'U' instead of 'you' comes about because of the large amount of text messaging on phones that the teens do today. Yes, it flows over into the real world too unfortunately. I kind of fear for our future and the lack of intelligence it could bring. Although, I do know know a lot of really smart kids that use that stuff too. Hopefully it will all work out, but it sure is annoying.
WOW!!! you 2 need lives...
just couse most of the people on here have cell phones I some times will be writing and start talking in text its habot formimg but I honistly dont think its a big deal its not like you dont understand what there saying your just trying to nit-picking
no...because whin your mailing some one you want to make it short not long...I use a lot of im.
I have no problem with it through text messaging, because text messaging is a bit different to typing; but when typing on a key board or writing, I think that propper words should be used as it doesn't take up precious message space.
Sgt_harris: The objective of this site is to answer people's questions. So I guess the only person on this thread that didn't do that was you.
I believe that communication in general is lacking, not just written word.
Whenever I am 'texting' or using MSN, I still use somewhat proper grammar and punctuation. I do have days when I am typing so quickly I do not spell things correctly or I miss somethings.
I do agree that advances in technology are ruining writing skills of many people.
In my opinion MSN and texting are ruining face to face communication as well,
it is difficult to speak to a human after sitting in front of a computer and you can write whatever you want, and then erase it before it's being sent, you just can't do that in the real world.
I'm highly opinionated on this subject...as you can probably tell.

Is it really that hard to use real words?
Send me Fun Mail
Ok I need to ask this becuase it is driving me crazy. I may not be the best speller in the world and I know that I make a few typos now and than, but, I am human after all. What I want to know is how hard is it really to use a compete word like YOU. All I read when im talking to people on msn is I like you rely. or someting along that gibberish. Im only 21 but I know enough about the world to see how bad this is going to be when our children, and espically the children of these people. Is it really that hard to make a complete sentance? Would it really kill parents to take you know maybe 30 minutes out of their busy schedul to sit down and actually have a conversation with their children, you know maybe just teach them some real grammer, instead of letting them sit for hours at a time ont he computer, on places like facebook, myspace, msn and whatever else they use these days?
