Is it about the calories ?

I am trying to lose weight so im watching my calorie intake tonight I had I ladel of soup for a starter and then a small bit of salad and a cheese and onion kiev and then a bowl of porridge for my dessert. These are all low in calories but is it calories...

that count or small portions ???

The average american eats between 1,000 and 2,000 calories a day,based on their weight and daily activities.For dieting,they usually tell you to stay under 1,500 calories to start.That way,you still get the calories you need,and youre not going over the limit.Portions also help with this though,because the smaller your portion,the less calories,so you can eat more foods if you eat less amounts.After a few weeks,you can limit your calorie intake if you wish.You should never go below 1,000 a day,though,as that can be dangerous.
