Depends on where you go to school. I live in a small town so therefore, everyone knows everything about everyone. But no matter what school you attend, one thing is the same in all schools... you really do find out who you're true friends are. I've seen best friends for years stop talking because they let high school go to their heads. Relax, it's just a school and be yourself.
No. It isn't bad at all. Just don't pretend to be something you are not and do not do things to make yourself seem cool. Just be yourself and expect the best but prepare for the worst. Don't use labels they make you loose your self-esteem and will, in the future, cause you to do things to change the label that isn't really there to begin with. If the word GEEK isn't tattooed on your forehead you aren't a geek. Nobody cares what you do on the weekend or if you do your homework. Just don't let people push you around and don't push others. Don't let others think they are better than you. If you stick to this you will make it. It isn't hard and high school isn't scary. Before you know it you will be an upperclassman.
its really not bad at all. I was a freshman last year and I loved it. as long as you have at least a friend or two in all your classes it will be a lot of fun. if you don't know anyone in a certain class on the first day, just ask a group of kids that look nice if you can sit with them. its better to do that and risk getting rejected than sitting by yourself and being shy. don't worry about being bullied either. in my school at least, nobody says anything to you in the halls if they don't know you they ignore you pretty much.
good luck and I hope I helped!
I remember being really worried about it at the time and then as soon as I got there and settled in - I was like Big Deal! People can really make a lot of hoopla about it.
My advice is to try to maintain a good balance in your mind between having reasonable amounts of fun and keeping in mind your post high school life and how what you do now is going to effect that. It really is a special time of life with quite a lot of social interaction and more free time to goof off than when you become a working adult. I hope you have a nice time. There will be people there that are like you. One thing I wish I had known at that age is that after school is over, even though its kind of sad, all these people that you think their opinions are so important, the majority of them, you will never see again even if you dont move away. Have a great day!

Is high school as bad as it's cracked up to be?
Okay...so I just finished middle school and I'm going to high school next month.
The problem is I really don't know what to expect. I'm scared cause in that school there's lottss of drugs and some gangs and I'm a 'geek' so I'm just worried...
Is...
