Is he only pretending?

I met this boy at the beginning of the school year and it was love at first sight. At first he didn't like me, but soon enough we became friends. He acts like he likes me but tells his friends he doesn't. All the time he is flirting with me. I really like him but he hasn't asked me out, he asks all these other girls out but not me. Should I give up on him? I can't ask him out because I want him to ask me. I don't know if he likes me because sometimes he doesn't talk to me and other times he does. Every time I try and get over him I just go right back for him! What should I do?

Sometimes guys and girls have a flirty personality, it's just the way they are. if he is telling his friends he doesn't like you that way, the chances are is that he probably doesn't. I would just stay friends with him and move on to someone else.

hey!!.. well you sent me a funmail to answer this question... tho it seems as this situation is anctient history... I think katy has said it all!! a load of guys and girls are like that, like it or not it's their personality - they just have a flirty flare to them!! but yeaaa... if he has said to his friends that he dosen't like you, then he dosen't, he just sees you in a more friendly way... and hey, it's better than not knowing him at all!!

im kinda going thru the same thing. he randomly started talking to me one day and after about the third time we spoke, I was head over heels. since then its been a rollercoaster. does he like me or doesn't he? one minute he does something that make you say yes, and the next he does something that makes you say no. im sure if he's told his friends that he doesnt like you he doesnt. but then again, at least with my guy, I think hes very wary about telling his friends his crushes, so maybe he does like you, but he doesnt want his friends to know. I would personally suggest not giving up. you can never be sure whether he does or not, even if he tells his friends differently. boys are just hard to understand :P just keep your head out of the clouds, expect the worst but stay positive, and either way it goes, you wont be hurt because you weighed in with reality.
