Is he 'just kidding' ?

Asked by amblessed 5 months ago, 18 answers.

Your Opinion: Iranian President Ahmadinejad has vowed to push Israel into the ocean, wiping those people from the face of the earth - Is he: A) 'just kidding' or B) Serious ?

so Utopia you think its ok for Israel to be enialated since you think amblessed is so protective of them. This man isn't kidding he has been very adamant about this. I guess that Korea's crazy leader who has fired 6 missles this week and tested a neuclear weapon is just joking too. I think its interesting how that is now Bushe's fault according to NBC (No Brains Crowd) If Bush would have gone after North Korea then you would be saying he is war monger, there is no satisfying you liberals. You want it both ways.

Let's see: the US spends 6 *billion* annually on Israel...being a capitalist country, it'd be mighty hard to reap a return on investment when you investment was in the ocean when it was supposed to be on land, right?

happy Clearly, he's kidding. There is no way that the guy would be so stupid...even if there are idiots who think war makes sense in the world, thankfully, those people are a small minority.

I caught his act in Vegas...pretty funny...

I am in a quandary...

amblessed, are you so protective of Israel because you want everything in place for a jewish holy land to fulfill the christian prophecy?
I find this insulting as Jews are seen as mere pawns in your eschatological scheme.
I also find it insulting because it ignores the rights of Muslims.
If you think jews are thankful for your fundamentalist concern...think again, we are not fooled.

Or do you see Israel as part of an American manifest destiny? Part of your fundamentalist idea of a Judeo/christian America ripe for expansion?

Or is it that you just hate muslims?

I think people would take him seriously because he is a nut and a leader of a country. We have mental hospitals for our mentally ill people because they can pose a threat.

Clearly, he's kidding.

Do you think its wise to assume he is just kidding? Was Hitler just kidding?

Ahmadinejad has not been very popular with his own people, and he has very little power in iran. The real power is the supreme leader, ayatollah ali khamenei. The president is just a front man, and ahmadinejad is in no way a shoe in for relection in a couple of weeks.

We should not be making him out to be more than he is. He maybe as crazy as hitler, but he has no where near the power, charisma, or intelligence.

I find it humerous, in a sense, as I had a discussion with someone about that very topic at work today. The Iranian president is no fool, a nut maybe, but no fool. He makes and has made many such statements in the past that are very grandiose. The likelyhood of his succeeding is quite slim if not impossible. Other nations in the past have tried with their amries of massed numbers and superior forces. BUT, Israel has always been protected and will continue because as scripture says, Israel is the apple of God's eye, His chosen people. So, I truly find that the Iranian president is all hype. Sure he has nukes, etc, etc. But he won't dare use them as he knows that if he did, he and his country would be blown into the dust.

Sure he has nukes,

Uhhh... No, he doesn't. He might have the desire for them, but they do not have them right now.

Unless you meant push the people of Israel into the ocean he could not push a country that was connected to a solid landmass into a body of water.

Most sane people thought bush should have been doing somethign about N. Korea. He did nothing. If N' Korea had vast oil reserves, then that might have been different.

I was in complete support of Bush doing something about N. Korea.
An actual threat..
Instead Bush took us to Iraq...a fabricated threat...

It's expected in his upcoming middle east speech/tour, BHO will Bypass Israel. Visiting the Middle East and not going to Israel would be like touring North America and omitted a stop in the United States. It only makes sense if you interpret it as a deliberate slap in the face of Jerusalem and a statement to the Arab world that America's pro-Israeli policy is changing.

Obama is outraged at those horrible Israeli settlements. They have to go! They are the major threat to Mid-East peace! Not the Iranian development of nuclear weapons or its subsidization of Hamas and Hezbollah or the Saudi royal subsidies for these terror organizations or welfare payments to the families of suicide bombers. No, it's those dangerous settlements.

Obama has called to put a freeze of furthering Israeli settlements, not removing the existing ones.
Lordy...if your fingers are typing, we can bet it is a lie of some sort.

As for President Obama visiting Israel...

Bush was first sworn into office in January 2001.

His FIRST visit to the Middle East was in January 2008.

It only took Bush 7 years to visit the Middle East. lol. what an example of good political strategy.
