Is france fancy or not?

Yup I'm a Dad Asked by tvsnow over 2 years ago, 2 answers.

My friend, she went to France on field trip and she said that it smelled and they didn't have toilets. That they have to go on the yard. But on TV shows it didn't look that way.

Um, no, France isn't like that. Granted, I've only been to Grenoble for a few days, but it's as modern as any small city in the US.

And, for what it's worth, of the dozen countries I've traveled to, many of them very poor, the nastiest bathrooms worst personal hygiene I've seen in the US, by far.

I think it's an odd cultural thing, honestly, that Americans pollute public bathrooms so. In every poor country I've been to, the bathrooms were all far cleaner. France, in general, was a pretty nice place - though most people either said they didn't speak English, or spoke little.

France is really beautiful. but she is kinda right about the toilets. In paris, when I went in 98, they had toilets on the sides of the streets. you would put money into them like a vending machine. it would self clean and everything. but in some places, like restauarants and such, they will not let you in at all to use the restroom.
