Is fasting just another word for starving?

does anyone on here fast? does it work?
you dont have to cut EVERYTHING from your diet exept water and broth , do youuu!?

from my understanding fasting is a short period where only bread and water are consumed. it usually has to do with a religious ritual. starving is long term and usually results in death

Fasting isn't the same as starving! AT ALL. It's not used for losing weight. and Starving yourself does nothing.

The best way to lose weight is to eat leaner and to stay active. go to the gym. go on runs and look for healthy recipes for good tasting food. happy

That's what I do.

and it works.

Yeah its starving yourself, but mostly used for religious purposes, not as a weight loss program.

kerrtog; there are different kinds of fasts... some like the lemonade diet.. where you drink lemonade and have NOTHIGN else.. is used for weight loss.. and the water fast too.
