Is abortion bad?

Is abortion bad? Because I know that it's killing babies, but they aren't old enough to be conscious of it. It's sad, but sometimes it seems like it is necessary. Like when someone is raped and they get pregnant. Or when somebody has a baby very early. I mean, it makes it soo hard to go on. It makes college pretty much impossible, and jobs really hard...a lot of people who choose to have their babies regardless of these scenarios end up homeless.

yes its bad, its murdering their child before it has a chance to live, if they didnt want the baby they can just give it up for adoption!

yes that is always so simple, until it is you or your own kid who is pregnant. Then those who scream the loudest end up first in line at the clinics...
There are thousands of kids living in foster care and in homes, lets put one more in there...

ummm well truthfully the concept of having an abortion is basically bad but im not against it at all. Yes, its killing a baby but its not like their even completely developed or conscious that their existing. tbere is a lot of controversy with beliefs of religion.

and I mean its no that easy just giving it up 4 adoption because maybe she doesnt want 2 have it and medical bills are high and the pain I hear is terrible

yes it is bad. you should have to take responsibility for your actions.
if you don't feel your fit to handle the kid then set it up for adoption..
adoption is also a good option for rapist's babies too

I am not against abortion. I am not saying kill a baby everytime you get pregnant.but if it is neccesary then I dont have a problem with it.because sometimes it will kill the woman if she doesnt abort the child.or if the lady got raped.

well I believe it to be bad because your killing an inocent baby

Abortion is neither good nor bad, it is either the natural or unnatural ending of pregnancy before the embryo or fetus is capable of surving. Since less than half of all zygotes naturally make it to term most abortions are in fact spontaneous rather than chosen.

Discussing elective abortions one has to consider the rights of the mother and the rights of the embryo. Who has the right to tell a woman that she has to serve as a human incubator for 9 months for a baby she doesn't want? At a certain point the child's rights have to be considered though. When we are talking about an embryo with fewer neurons than a chicken I do not consider it a person. It may have the potential to become a person but it isn't there yet.

While it is hard to draw a line for when a fetus becomes a person I do think the idea of trimesters makes a lot of sense. In the first trimester the mother's rights are paramount. At this point women should be able to terminate a pregnancy for whatever reason. In the second trimester we have to balance the rights of the mother and the fetus. At this point abortions should only be for valid medical reasons like the pregnancy threatening the mother's health or future fertility or the fetus having birth defects that would make life difficult. In the last trimester the fetus' has more rights and abortion should only be performed when the mother is in grave danger or the child is brain dead or has a condition incompatable with life.

I think in some cases its necassery.what if the mom is 12 and she got raped? she would have 2 abort or else she might die.my cousin was 13 when she got raped and she got pregnant and she wanted to have the child.but the doctor said it was better to abort,but my cousin said no,because she was killing an innocent baby.but my cousin died giving birth,the baby survived but with the mommy.my aunt treats him like her own son.sometimes its better to abort.my opinion...

Lack of sex education, birth control, affordable childcare, healthcare takes a life...

It is NOT just about giving birth...

Abortion is not killing a baby, abortion is almost like killing a tumor at that stage of growth.

Organs aren't fully developed, the embryo/fetus cannot survive on its own at the point of abortion, therefore is can hardly even be considered a human yet, it is still a part of the mother.

u no how they do abortions.. they crush the brain then take the baby out.. that is wrong.. its not the babys fault and in my opinion if you dont want a baby you should be opening your legs.. and if you got raped then give it up for adoption if you cant take care of it.. lots of couples cant have kids and want to adopt.. ABORTION IS MURDER!!

Im sorry to be the outcast here on this, but I think abortion should be aloud... You guys that say its taking life yet it has no heart beat? doesn't breath? nothing its just an extra attachement... And I bet some of you guys eat eggs which is abortion on the hen in a sense... Also the planet has 6 BILLION people on it already, if every couple had one baby in the next 10 years it would be almost 9 billion... The planet is over populated because of things and sayings like "abortion is killing" and "stem cell research is bad" By people being forced to have there baby with anti-abortion laws your actually killing the entire human race and everything else just that much faster, humans take quite abit of food/land to upkeep and keep us alive. I know I might get some negative vibe from this but people need to look outside the box and see the big picture not just the taking of a lifeless life... sorry

also, there are serious psychological problems that accompany rape, especially if they are impregnated and are REQUIRED to give birth to a child that would be a constant reminder of that traumatic experience, as well as permanently scar their body, over something they had little to no control over.

as for couples adopting, yeah, thats why our country has plenty of orphanages all over the place. couples that want to adopt want to adopt by specific criteria, they dont want just any baby, also, its a pretty difficult process

learn what you're talking about, don't think everything your parents and pastor tell you are the truth and all that matters in the world, because a lot of it is hyperbole and skewed views that further their personal beliefs instead of actual fact

they understand? they don't have conscious thought, how can they understand anything? how many memories do you have of floating around in fetal juices without lungs that pump oxygen on their own or eylids that can even open because they are one piece still? until they breath their own air, they are a part of the mother, though, at like 8-9 months, they are definately practically human. the majority of abortions happen in the first tri-mester though, far from human.

oh yeah, did you know at only 3 or 4 weeks they still have a repitian tail?

a question on the side... no just to be gross... but a single ejaculation kills thousands of sperm cells, that's half of the ingrediants for a baby, so... is that murder too? :P

Why is it always the fingernails that people focus on when talking about embryos? Why does terminating the life of something with fingernails make the action more or less objectionable? Cows have GIANT fingernails, but that fact doesn't make me feel any guiltier about finding them so very, very delicious.

and maybe there are people out there that dont want to adopt a baby from a rape victom but there are also peole out there that really dont care.. only a**holes like you would care..

im fairly certain I've researched the subject for a term paper at one point or another. also, that may be how the specific clinic does it, or maybe that's how your sister interpreted it, you're getting it second-hand if you got it from your sister and there is a very high probability that details got mixed up, left out, interpreted, and misunderstood in her retelling of what the clinic told her.

as far as abortion goes, I don't really care, I probably wouldn't suggest it to a girl I got pregnant unless my life situation couldn't support taking care of a child, but when someone is raped, forcing them to keep the child is simply inhumane
