Is abc's 'the bachelor' a bad idea?

Has reality TV gone way too far from the moral high road with the hook-up shows on TV? Is ABC's The Bachelor a bad idea? Or do people really believe that the people involved will come out of the process mentally unscathed?

I don't know. Personaly I think that the show is pretty fake. No offense to any of the people who have been on that show, including my cuz, but I think that most of the girls in perticular are very dumb and not intellegent. I mean, do they really think they are going to find true love on this kind of show? And I really hate how those supposedly bachelors say that they are on the watch to find the perfect one, I mean don't they know that the women are mainly going for his money and not so much for who he is?
I understand that some people think that these shows are entertaining, but for god's sake, couldn't they make it a little more realistic? idk... i just think that maybe t.v. shows should be based on reality. i also think that shows should be more deep. idk, like my mom says, hollywood is preparing future generation fakes.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but that's how i feel.
