Is 17 the legal age in Texas to move out without your parents' consent?
I've been in this situation first hand. The age in which a child can move out in Texas is 17, the catch is that the parents are still legally and financially responsible for the child. This means the authorities will assist the parent in keeping the child with them. The law is not very clear cut in Texas and the majority of law officials do not even know the law. This law needs to be changed to help the parents and the children. Let me reinterate, these are children we are speaking of. Each situation is different, but they are still children. Any one in the state of Texas and walk into a Judical Judges chambers and ask to speak with the Judge on the matter. Majority of Judges want to help.
I left home and my parents called the cops I was 17 at the time and the cops came found meh then took meh back home. the legal age is 18 and then you parents cant do shit after that they can threaten and fight yell and scream but they cant stop you
