Interracial relationship

Asked by rainbeau over 5 years ago, 5 answers.

I am a 14 year old black female dating a 15 year old white male. Ever since we stared dating ,we#039;ve faced a lot of racism. quot;Willquot; doesn#039;t see why it bothers me. I love my boyfriend but people call him names like quot;Hitlerquot;...

because he has blonde hair and blue eyes and say things like quot; I thought Hitler liked blonde hair and blue eyed people not black.quot; It really hurts. What do you guys that I should do?

I totally agree with the comment above.. dont listen to what other people say if you really love him then it shouldnt matter.. i know its hard to ignore what people say but some people are just jerks.. i know how it feels.. im a white female and im dating a black male and whenever i hear people talking crap about black people then i get mad... its going to be hard but if you really love him just try to ignore it! Good luck!

people are stupid and jealous.
no one ever has anything nice to say anymore.
they get kicks and giggles out of making other people who are happy feel like crap...
ignore them.
talk to your guy about it... let him know that you wont let what these people say bother you...

happy

Whether or not your interracial marriage will face additional stress and strain than other marriages depends greatly upon your families and the community where you decide to live.

If your interracial marriage is having difficulties, don't assume that the problem is based because of your racial differences. Here are some coping strategies to help deal with issues that could be hurting your interracial marriage relationship.

Do follow what you feel and truly believe in your hearts.

Do not let what others think about your marriage worry you.

Do show mutual respect for one another and for one another's cultures. If your differences are creating problems for you, brainstorm together for some solutions.

Do keep your sense of humor alive.

Do remain realistic about your differences and about what you have in common.

Do not ignore your differences thinking that they will just go away. They won't disappear because you don't talk about them.

Do work on bringing your families together.

Do not defend your parents if they try to interfere in your marriage. Take a stand together and set boundaries.

Do help your children to understand and be proud their mixed racial identity.

Do avoid those who disapprove of your marriage. You don't deserve or need that type of negative energy in your lives.

You guys should stay together, put aside that stuff people say to you and
act stronger than that, you guys seem like your in a good relationship
so dont let other people take that from you.
