yes!
lol I have ATT/Cingular (or what ever name they are going by this week) and I texted someone from Canada and it was like fifty cents/text and like 55 cents/minute to talk it was crazy it added up really fast

there are plans you can have that will include canada but for the most part the US only covers US and Puerto Rico

It does. If you are serious about contacting this person, then it might be cheaper to change youur plan and get an internatioal plan. You can always change it back. Or do some reseach into getting some really good calling cards not the kind that rip you off or try the new free computer calling network called skype. I heard it works really well just need to have a mic or a camera if you want. Good luck all.
