Infield by rule applies tonight world series

best photo Asked by iwelcomeu about 1 year ago, 2 answers.

Tonight world series will be applied with the infield by rule. Brian Gould of Scores Odds Picks thinks that due to infield by rule the defence would take bigger risk by intentionally dropping a ball. Do you agree with this?

OK at first I didnt know what you were talking about but then I got it
its called the infield fly rule and it is effective every game
Infield fly is when a pop up is hit ...if an infielder can can catch it while being square to homeplate (both feet, body, and head facing homeplate) then infield fly takes effect which means that even if they drop the pop up it counts as an out and all runners must tag up

I think it's a good rule because defense could drop the ball with the hope of forcing a double play...to me it keeps baseball more elementary instead of dealing with like sneaky stuff and manipulating the game

The rule only applies when there are runners on first and second, or have the bases loaded with less than two outs. To be clear runners advance at their own risk, they run the risk of being doubled-off if the ball is caught like babygirl was saying.
