Infected with spyware what should i do

My computer alert said that my computer has been infected with spyware and that I have too installed soft cop.
Do I have to installed soft cop.
And what should I do.

you should probably disconnect from the internet,
if you're knowledgeable about your computer,
run through and clean the system manually,
the longer your online, the more they infect,
you could always take it to a professional(recommended)

Depending on your tech knowlage you can either try to fix it yourself. There are some nice guides on Techspot. And here is a step by step guide on removing and cleaning up your system http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html. I have used the removal guide several times.

I would check those 2 guides out. If you feel it is way over your head either get a hold of a geek friend or seek professional help :D.

Not dont install softcop, there is prbably nothing wrong with your comp, that program is saying it can fix the errors just so you will install, its probably a virus

Soft Cop is what we call a Trojan horse. It is a program that says it will do something useful but is actually something bad.

There are instructions on the net for removing it I never ran into Soft Cop but one time my computer was infected with Spy Axe; not sure how this happened because I never knowingly install anything without confirming its source. Spy Axe was a real pain to remove.

One time my work laptop was so badly infected that the only way to recover was to wipe the disk and reinstall the OS.

They're virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of, unless you have the right materials.
