is it ok to clean infected ear piercings with peroxcide?

Answer #1

Peroxide is TERRIBLE for piercings. Use alcohol instead, like rubbing alcohol.

Answer #2

peroxide isnt always good for any piercing. just use sum dial soap with water. and un-iodized sea salt. or you can get the spray its called H20cean. I got it from hot topics. it works good.

Answer #3

You CAN, however rubbing alcohol or peroxide can dry out your ear, cause irritation and itching. If you use the peroxide, be sure to use a Q-tip to avoid exposing your ear to unnecessary amounts of it; it’ll also help get around the jewelry.

The best thing to use, and what piercers carry in the shops, is a sea salt mix. You can make this mix using sea salt (found in most stores) and water and soaking the piercing (usually 3-4 times a day).

You shouldn’t remove the jewelry to clean it. Doing so will trap the bacteria in your ear and cause bigger problems.

Answer #4

Peroxide is okay for ear piercings. My ears are very sensitive and they close up if I don’t have earrings in for a few days, so I constantly have to shove it through. Anyway, I always use peroxide. :)

Answer #5

Clean it with salt water with a drop of tea tree oil in it. Sorted out my tragus and nape piercing quickly.
