Don't let it worry you much... it's not true. Hell it was supposed to end in 2000 too but did it? No...

The world will end when it's time for it to end. . .I think it would be entirely too coincidental for that to happen in exactly 4 years. If you make it til the sun begins to supernova, I'd be worried, until then I wouldn't really worry about it. You're more likely to die from pretty much anything else.

It's all based on a program known as Spiderbot. It's like an internet worm that was issued by the government to predict the rise and fall of stocks by measuring the subconscious of the interweb. I once heard that it foresaw a major plunge right before Sept 11, so apparently it has this knack for foretelling disaster. I was told that it predicts a great calamity for 2012. Now the Aztec calendar also ends with 2012, but then again when they predicted the return of Quetzalcoatl (their white-skinned god), the very Caucasian conquistadors arrived instead, and as far as I remeber from high school they brought not promised salvation but terror, mistrust and tasty, tasty smallpox. if you're really that scared you should have a, Apocalypse Plan, so that you may be one of few survivors in a post-doomsday dystopia.

It's all to do with the Mayan calender. Every cycle of chunks of the mayan calender get smaller each time. So they believe in 2012 this calender is going to end, and it's going to be the end of the world. WRONG! it just starts over again, refreshes itself to a nicer peacefull world.

Well that's what I was led to believe. But if I feel the world breaking up beneath my feet, I'd go and make a delicious hamburger!

It's all because the aztec calender ends on that day. I think they didn't finish it in time, or they just ran outta stone, no big deal.
