if my boyfriend is 19 and im 16, is it illegal for us to have a relationship or just illegal to have sex?

the answer:no it is not illegal for you to be with a 19 year old guy only illegal thing is if you both get marry which is illegal.

In some states, s*x with a minor who is 16 years old
is considered statutory rape whether or not the 16 year old consented and the 19 year old can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Statutory rape laws vary by state. So you would have to look into your state's laws. However, it probably is legal. Usually, if a couple is three years apart or less in age, it is legal.
