What are the qualities that your Mr./Ms. Right would have if you could build them from the ground up? LoL wishful thinking huh, Nite

I wouldn't want to. The beauty of relationships is that you can never know all there is to know about the other person, and can spend a lifetime finding it all out. If I built my own boyfriend, he'd only have the qualities I could endow him with... get me? It's like the difference between a teddy bear and a dog... I prefer the latter because I can interact with it solely because IT IS NOT AN EXTENSION OF ME.

Finding Mr or Ms Right

The key to finding Mr. Right is to become Ms. Right (or vice versa for you guys out there). That’s right. In order to attract a mate you need to become a more attractive potential mate. By attractive I am not talking about going to the spa and getting a complete external makeover, although you may decide to put that on your list of things to do. I am talking about conducting an inventory of your whole person, body, mind and spirit. What needs attention? Do you need a tune-up? Are you due for just an oil change or do you need a complete overhaul? Finding Mr. Right won’t transform you into the person you’ve always wanted to be.

What qualities are you looking for in a mate or in someone to date? Are you working on developing those qualities in yourself? Do you like yourself? If you don’t like you how do you expect anyone else to like you? While everyone is subject to certain limitations in terms of what they can do about their physical appearance (unless money is no object and you can afford all the nipping and tucking money can buy), there is no limit on what you can do to enhance your inner beauty. The Bible talks about nine qualities that are a barometer of what’s going on in your head and heart. They are love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. How are you doing with these? Seeking God’s assistance to help you grow in these qualities will significantly enhance your personal attractiveness.

What is it you are looking for? If your focus is all about what this person can do for you, then you will probably end up sucking them dry with your neediness. If you are emotionally needy and have unresolved issues that are getting in your way, stop reading this article, pick up the phone, make an appointment with a counselor and get busy with whatever it is you need to work on. You will be glad you did and so will the potential Mr. or Ms. Right. A relationship can only be as healthy as the people who come together to form the relationship.

What are you looking for? Here are some basic things to consider putting on your shopping list: common values, beliefs, goals and interests; the ability to love and be loved; the ability to forgive and be forgiven; a good sense of humor; kind and generous; doesn’t take himself too seriously; able to communicate. If you don’t know what you are looking for, how will you know if you found it?

As you move forward in your life it is essential that you let go of the past. If you are normal and human, you have made some mistakes; you’ve sinned against God and others. For those sins, weaknesses and failures there is forgiveness and grace. God loves us even when we have a hard time loving ourselves. God, our Father, is standing there with arms wide open to welcome us back when we have wandered off the path and gotten ourselves into trouble. We are forgiven in Jesus, the one who gave his life for us. Because of him the past can stay in the past.

Remember, everyone you encounter, everyone you date, that one you think might be Mr. Right, puts his pants on one leg at time, just like everyone else. While he may be Mr. Right-for-you, he is not Mr. Perfect. He will probably not fulfill all of your fondest dreams, hopes and wishes. He will probably leave the seat up, belch on occasion and not be willing to share the remote on game days. If you can live with that, go for it.
