Ok so my school's first edition of the newspaper got published friday and now we're brainstorming for ideas on the second issue.
Does anyone have any ideas of what you would find interesting in a school newspaper? Specifically the ae section because...

that's what I'm the editor of.
Also my friend wants me to do an article on skateboarding...good idea?

HelloJust! For those who have school Spirit, I would do a piece on the history of the school, and highlight the sports teams history. Does the school have any special noted athletes that were recognised by the state? Or ones that maybe went on to pro careers in the major sports? Also, how many of the past students ended up being teachers themselves. Some of the kids will like the information, and the school administration will be tickled that you did it. For AE, you can do a little history on it too. Are any old classmates now doing acting, directing, etc. now? Figure when your next edition will be published, then check with venues in your area to see who is booked for around that time. Do you have any museums in your area? Do the same thing for them! Do a little research any see if there might be any famous (or close to it) artists from your area. If you have a symphony orchestra in town, do special stories of the conductor, concertmaster, and maybe even the performers of various instruments. make it a regular feature in tyour newspaper to show everybody who is going to appear where, in the future. Radio stations can often help with that too! Well, I reckon that will get you started! Good Luck! Don

school history is boring, in my opinion
find out names of bands in your school and advertise them in your section,
at least you know you have people who are going to read and talk about your section which is always a good thing.
maybe to some anonymous embarrasing moments or look up some really funny jokes on google. dont just write non-funny jokes, make sure people will klaugh at them.

hmm...arts and entertainment? I would suggest articles on what is popular in your school...for example..uhm...are you guys really in too new models of gadgets or stuff like that...try to make an article for that or if your more into sports try posting news updates on that kinda stuff...
as for the arts stuff...in my school theres a section when students can submit articles like poems and songs and stuff that they composed themselves..I know it kinda sounds cheesy but its actually fun to read it happy
