No, it doesn't sound like a virus, I think you're referring to the favicon for the site...if they udpated it, OR you empty your cache or the image expires, then that will happen. If you're concerned you have a virus, run spybot search destroy, and make sure you surf with firefox instead of IE, and keep it up to date (as most viruses spread through holes in IE).

Icons changing.
The icons in my favourites tab beside the websites have suddenly changed to different signs and are all mixed up. Is this a virus? How can I tell?
