Hi,
I did some research for you online, and found an instance of a dog who had an Iams Tartar Treat stuck in his small intestine.
$2400 and two vet visits later, after an operation, the treat was removed.
Now, any treat can have this effect on the dog if he/she doesn't chew it thoroughly. I wouldn't write them off forever just because of this one instance.
Break them in half and give them to the dogs with CLOSE supervision. See if they chew them thoroughly. If they do, I wouldn't worry. It seems like an isolated incident.

Are iams tartar treats safe?
I have five chihuahuas. Two are adults, and three are 6 months old. I was just wondering if anyone knows if Iams Tartar Treats are safe? Have you given them to your dogs and did they like them?
