need people to help write articles, big topics/stories etc...

you need to Mass Print your magizines also

maybe find locally owned shops who would be interested in buying from you

or you can sell them at your work or school

thats all I could think of in 2 seconds

You need to figure out a lot of stuff.

Magazine revenues come from advertising. You can only get advertising if you can prove your quality of readership.

You have to decide whether your mag is going to be free or paid. With free, you rely on ad revenue. With paid, you increase your ad revenue because paid readers are worth more.

It's a big deal. You need an investor as well, for start up capital. I would recommend that you work for a magazine for a couple of years in the various departments, and then decide whether you can do it.

There is also distribution to think about

Data base software to keep your records

Customer Service to handle problems and questions

.

One more thing I thought of. If you have a good idea for a mag. that reaches a market not yet covered, why not try and sell it to one of the big publishers?

I do have a good idea for a magazine, but if I sell it to a publisher would I still be in charge of the magazine?

No. Thats the idea... you dont have the money or the experience to make it fly, so you'd be making your money by selling the rights. Typically when it's been done before, the idea person is on the editorial staff.
