I want to be ready

so how do you know when you get your fist period like I have gotten cramps for a week now and I just want to be ready and know when its happing? Only girls please!!

You can't exactly know for sure when it'll start. Every girl is different so no girl starts at the same time or has the same PMS signs/symptoms. Cramps are usually a good sign you'll be starting. Getting discharge is normal for all girls, even when they're not on their period. Discharge that's clear, whiteish or yellowish that doesn't have an odor is normal, but discharge that is odd colored or has a bad odor could be a sign of an infection.

If you feel like you might start your period, you should carry some pads with you just in case. Also, every day you should put a panty liner on that way if you would start, you wouldn't have blood in your underwear and you wouldn't leak through to your pants *that would be highly embarrassing if you were in public*.

I mean if you really think youre period is coming..
I would go buy some pads at the store to put on top of your underwear so if blood appers it wont be on your underwear.

if it doesnt come in the next 5 days or so... it might be somehing else and with that I would go see a doctor

well I found out by checking and if your hm hm is sensitive then your gonna start

Well you'll never know exactly when your gonna start. And with my first period barely any blood came out. My suggestion is to carry a pad or tampon around just in case but you probably won't know when it happens until you check your panties and see blood.

When I first started my period I was at home so my mom had pads for me. but if it happens to start if you aren't at home, I would carry around pads just to be safe. and I actually did have some cramps before I started my first period so maybe it will be the same for you. Also, they have really thin pads called panty liners and I would just wear those all the time if you think you are going to start soon just in case. Good luck! I hope I helped!
