It makes perfect sense, my recent ex broke up with me because she HELD IN all this stuff about things I needed to say to let her know how much I loved her, even though I thought she should have felt it.

Trust me, tell him, whats the worst that can happen? People who generally love one another will want to know how to make the other person happier, even if its as simple as wanting to hear how good you look or random signs of affections. Don't let it build up until you can't take it anymore.
