so I go this private school with all girls and from across our school is an all boy school. I take the private bus home which is both schools(boys and girls). there is this boy on the bus named phil and he lives a block away from me and we get off at the...

same stop. but we barely talk and I'm way to shy to say something. His friends which sometimes talk to me say thats he's really cool and I just what to be friends. like sometimes my friend talk about having a guy friend that they can talk to about anything, and like playing sports that a dangerous and things that other girly girldon't want to do. I just want him and me to be like that. but I'm scared it's going to all awkward!!!

Start a ritual of talking after the driver drops you two off. The first time is the most important. Try to think of something to tell him that would make sense, like something that happened on your street or just ask him a question about some crazy old neighbor. Better yet, ask him a question about his school. Make it up! Say, I heard that (insert made up but interesting statement about his school here). He will have to give more than a one word response which can than ensue a conversation. Once the conversation has begun, introduce yourself. The most important thing is to be interested in him and ask him thoughtful questions. It will make him instantly like you. Just make sure not to be too pushy, because then he will think you have a crush on him. So once you have spoken to him, make it a habit and do it everytime you get off the bus, he may start doing it too. Wave hi to him when you get on the bus. And eventually, once the friendship has grown ask for his AIM and arrange to hang out.
