I think I have started my period but there is a lot of blood?

Last night I found some brown stuff in my knickers… but later discovered it was dried blood. This morning I have been constantly checking my knickers and there seems to be a lot of blood… It is almost like I am contantly bleeding… Is this normal for starting your period??? I think it is lightening off now but I am still worried. Please help.

Answer #1

It varies for different people. But a lot of blood definitely doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. Don’t worry. Also, in early periods, everything can be unpredictable, so this doesn’t mean every period will be equally heavy.

Answer #2

Are you talking about just starting your period for this month or just starting it as in life your first one??

Answer #3

Some women have extremely heavy menstrual flow, others dont. I am not a doctor!! if you are sexually active there could be other problems. If you are experiencing sharp abdominal pains you should probably talk to a doctor. But if you just feel like crap and are irritable and your body is sore and stuff, welcome to being a woman, glad I’m not one. Have you or can you talk to your mother about this, if not her then the school nurse or guidance counselor? you need to get some pads or tampons so you wont destroy all your clothing. I wouldn’t worry too much I think it scares the hell out of every girl when she first starts to menstruate.

Answer #4
