Ichibanarky summed it up as well as one can. Only thing if I were you I would start researching England's policies, like yesterday. Who knows if there are forms you may need to fill out and how long they will take to process. You love he loves you go for it. Just do your homework so you won't have to be apart for so long. I don't know much about England's immigration policies, but I know that, here, if you were to marry before he leaves, that grants him a family class visa. He would have to return to his country every six months for a short stay until he becomes a citizen.
