Without knowing how your benefits work, I can't tell you for sure.
I know that here, you won't get it unless you had a very good excuse for quitting. Where injury is usually a good reason, it would be required of you to prove that all precautions had been taken to ensure a safe working environment. If it turns out that you just didn't follow the precautions and the injuries as a result were self-inflicted, then you're on your own.
Where I work, there are delinquent kids who hit staff, break windows, and other damage. I have worked here a long time but lately there are no consequences for the kids when the become physically abusive. I recently hurt my back but in the past I have had other injuered body parts . I am tired of being hurt but I want to be able to work with kids. I want to quit here and move on but it may take time before I get another job so I wanted to know if I could collect unemployment until I can get another job with the way the economy is now, it may take awhile. So can I quit and get unemployment on the fact that I am constantly injured on my job?
I recenty quite my job at a retail location. Customer were being verbally abusive as well as physical somtimes meaning ( slamming things in front of me throwing things in the store). I even had some racial slurs. It came to the point where I was scared to go to work sometimes when I think about getting this esclations again. I told company I needed to get away from the retail channel. They tried but couldn't because they couldn't find my replacement and couldn't find a position for me. So I had to quite cause I couldn't stand the esclations anymore. Are these ground for a good cause for getting unemployment?
