well, if your 13 right now...chances are...its not going to happen right now...
just get involved with some musicals...tryout for as much stuff as you can...anytime there is a musical or a chance to join a singing group just go tryout...even if you dont get it, it helps a lot.

you aren't going to be able to live your dream at 13 it will take years of practicing and performing before you can make it big as a singer

Well, first of all, to be a singer you need talent.
If you have natural talent, well good for you, get some lessons and maybe make it absolutely perfect. If not, still take lessons and ask the teacher what the chances of you becoming a good singer in the future are.

But if you honestly have no natural talent, give up now. It's like drawing stick figures and saying 'I want to be an artist'.
