Wow LIVINLIKECHRIST...I gotta question...I thought Christ was open minded...so why is it that his followers(sucjh as your self) say things like they wont take advise from non-christians...is non-christian advise not good enough for u...well anyways heres my non-christian advise...if you want to start living more Christ like then start living your life the way Jesus did...take into consideration the phrase What Would Jesus Do...ask your self that when in doubt...and take your own advise from the Bible...not all christians interpret the Bible the same...good luck
Depends on how you define a real christian. Different people might have a different defenition, depending on who you ask. I myself am christian, which is one who seeks/follows christ.
I don't know why you don't believe in dating. How else are you going to someday find your other half. Well actually right now it's too early for that, but dating is not bad.
Being in a relationship is not wrong, unless in your attitudes and actions you're more concerned with that person and more dedicated to him or her than you are to God.
God wants to be included in all aspects of your young life and of your adult life. He will be your companion always as long as you keep on seeking Him. I admire youth that takes these vows with God, but believe me the last thing He wants you to be is miserable. So get the right information and facts, so that you don't grow weak in your faith and I recommend getting a Devotional Bible especially for youth. You'll be amazed at all the information you will get, and you'll be surprised how great God really is.
I have 5 kids and all of them were baptized early in their life, I bought them their own bible according to their age so that they could understand the terminology used.
He does want us to have non-christian friends' so that we can get them acquainted with God, so don't outcast people, Jesus was a fisherman of souls, so keep your head up high because you are christian but never belittle anybody.
Good luck in your spiritual journey and don't forget about God He never forgets about you.
Ok well my mom gave me these books I know books probably suck but theres allot of info in them that can help you even if you just skim throught hem..
1.The ten commandments of dating by Ben Young and Samuel Adams
2.Making dating work boundaries in dating by Dr.Henry Cloud and Dr.John Townsend
odd names but take from it what you like =)
I think that you have asked a wonderful question. The Bible gives some very strict guidelines for Christian relationships. First of all, you should not seek to have an emotional realtionship with someone who is not a Christian. If you want to know if they are a follower of Christ, watch them. Remeber 1 John, He who claims to konw me and obeys not my commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. Secondly, I know first hand, haveing dealt with a tough break up this past year, that surrenduring your emotions to Jesus is a vey difficult task. Understand, you will probably never gain complete control over your emotions because they just tend to be crazy from time to time. However, if you can allow Jesus to become the center of your life, He will use those emotions for His glory. The only other Biblical advice I can give you is to remain sexually pure. The word virgin literally means untouched. God desries that you remain a virgin from all sexual sin, not just the act of intercourse, until you are married. Basically, you should never do anything that requires removing clothes until ou are married. I could list some things here, but I think you get the point. Most preachers say that you should not do anything beyond light kissing because any activity beyond this only leads to dangerous places. My advice to you is to keep praying and studying the scripture. If you diligently seek God, He will reveal Himself to you. I hope this has helped you. If you have any more questions, please post them and I would be happy to answer.
P.S. The scripture references for my advice con be found mostly in Paul's two letters to the Corinthians.
Matthew 5:16
I'm not taking any adivce from non-christians, they can put up their advice, and I'll read it, but I wont consider it. That is the most stupid thing you can say. Ok, I'm a Christian, and from my perspective, not listening to good advice from non-christians is very very hypocritical, not just from a Christian viewpoint, but from a logical viewpoint. Your attitude to non-Christians is immature and very unlike Christs attitudes. Remember, you're trying to make yourself more like the guy who reached out to societies untouchables, the lepers, the outcasts, the prostitutes, the sinners and adulterers. He welcomed everyone and loved everyone regardless of their social background, their gender or faith, and I think that all Christians should strive to do the same.
Would you ignore a non-Christians advice if they were a doctor telling you to take a medicine or you'd die? Non-Christians are not a separate race of human beings, they are the Lords children just like you and me. They just don't know it yet.
