I need a story starter, please!

Hey. I want to start a story, but I don't know where to start. So I would like a few characters suggested, a plot, setting, year, et cetera.

Usually you start with the setting. Where you want the place to be. Then about the period or time in history. At what time (day or night)could be useful. The mood of the place. Then you introduce the characters or just the main one in the beginning. Go from there. I hope this helps.

Is was a cold dark night. The snow sparkled aganist the full moon's light. All was quite as the Vampire's woke from a long day's nap. Mr. Diggy the towns general store owner was sweeping his floors and getting ready to close, when the hackles on the back of his neck stood up. He knew about all the stories of the vampires since he was just a boy. Now well into his 70's he never could have imagined what he was about to experince. The street lights were dimming one by one and not another soul was around. For years the towns people would be in there houses by dark, but Mr. Diggy had to work late because of inventory.
