I think its definitely a possibility liberty depression affects your ability to be motivated, energy levels and sometimes the ability to really enjoy a happy moment. But It might also be that your just a normal 13 year old who is frustrated with life at the moment. Its hard to put our lives into perspective at that age we are not sure why we are here or whats the purpose. Sometimes that frustration gets so deep when reoccurring issues like family and self esteem arise and its hard to channel it in a healthy matter so we concentrate on suicide or self harm.
If you are diagnosed with depression you need to find something that will work for you some people find counseling helpful others find it makes things worse some find medication helpful and others find it makes things worse. You have to find what works for you! I found positive thinking books and cds to help me when I was diagnosed with bipolar. I still have the lack of motivation at times I find it hard to be happy or have the energy to enjoy life at times. But trying to change my thought patterns and focus on the positive has defintly helped me good luck and feel free to funmail me if you want to talk x
I think you definately need to talk to somebody. Either your mom or a teen suicide hotline in your area. But talking does help. As for the medicine, it's really not that bad. My mom, brother, aunt and myself all have depression (apparently it's something that runs in the family) and we are all on medication. I also have a therapist that I talk to and she helps a lot. Just remember, you're not alone and people out there would definately miss you. So don't make any drastic decisions without exploring every option you have.
Best of luck
Well, here's another depressing thought. You can't commit suicide if you believe in God orJesus because God said he would forgive you for a particular sin if you ask him for forgiveness but if you commit suicide, you can't ask.
You may have depression or you may be going through what a lot of kids go through when they become a teenager.
If you are depressed, though, medicine will make you feel better, more like normal.
you need to tlk to someone. just remember... you ARE wanted in this world.. you wrere put here for a reason... there is somebody that needs you... dont commit suicide... please dont. I no that we dont no each other but I do care... dont do it.

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,
And maybe lessen the cares in your way;
And also, too, to help you to know,
That in knowing you, many others grow!
You are at an age where hormones, emotions and even your brain are undergoing strong changes. It is natural to occasionally feel confused or depressed.
The best thing you can do is to talk to a counselor or therapist. Barring that, find someone you can communicate your emotions and thoughts with, sort of like a sounding board. Keeping your thoughts to yourself doesn't help. If you can't find someone around you then consider Fun Mailing someone on Fun Advice.

You could be depressed since suicide is part of depression.
Well, you could tell your mother by catching her when she's in a good mood and see what happens. If you're depression worsens, then I would recomend counseling. Since your a member of the church, you could go through LDS family services. They have very good people. I'll be going through counseling myself through them. I'm sure your mother will understand what your going through. Don't be afraid to talk to her, she is there to help you.
Don't comitt suicide, since, I almost did that myself recently. But, I couldn't since my Branch President and a few others from church didn't agree with that too well. You have allot to live fore. we would miss you if you did that. Yes, I thought of suicide when I was 17 but, then I reverted back since I had family problems myself. I don't believe in medicine myself for depression since I think people who are depressed can make it without medicine. Tell your mother not to put you on medicine, and, tell her that she should put you on counseling.
Yes, mothers freak out, butt, eventually, they'll have to get over it. Be confident and don't forget to catch her when she's in a good mood.
ok, honey! you definitely have depression. just gently tell her mom like this Mom, lately I haven't really felt like my myslelf, like I'm just really sad all the time and I think I need to see a doctor! She will understand! just tell her your symptoms too if you feel like it or if she asks! YOU REALLY NEED TO SEE SOME TYPE OF DOCTOR! THEY WILL HELP you THREW THIS TOUGH TIME AND HELP YOU FEEL 100% BETTER!!! HOPE YOU GET BETTER! bye!

I want to run away from home

I want to run away from home
I wanted to run away from home today, because things got so bad at home today.. I even sat in the car in 120 degree weather (I live in AZ) to think, when I realized I wouldn't really care if I died thinking about where I would run to.
I think about...
commiting suicide a lot, maybe once a week, and I know it's not really normal to think about so much at 13.. I'm usually pretty happy, so I don't think I'm depressed. But even when I'm happy, I'm sad too, if that makes sense. I feel like I'm not good for anything or pretty, so what's the point of me living? And wouldn't life be better off without me?
So maybe I have depression? My older sister did, so maybe that's it? I need to talk to my mom about it, but I'm nervous that she'll put me on medicine.
Do you think that I may have depression? Is that a possibility? How can I tell my mom without her flipping out?
