I'm not a freakin mind reader...

Asked by xjennx 5 months ago, 1 answer.

My boyfriend of about 2 months just broke up with me. He kept telling me how great we were together and he never felt so much for a girl before and all this crap. Then the end of school comes and apparently I began acting different. I was just so sad...

school was going to be over and I was going to miss my friends, so I was acting a little jittery I guess you could say. Now my boyfriend is saying he didn't like me acting different and he can't take it. So we're over...But um, He hasn't even seen me in over TWO WEEKS!! He won't listen to me when I say I'm not acting different anymore...Then I said I wish he would have talked about this to me sooner, but he said he wants someone who already knows what he's thinking so he doesn't have to say it. In other words, he wants me to gain the power to freakin read his mind. Eventually he's like if we're gonna have problems like this I think we should just be friends. I've been trying to compromise with him all day, trying to make him happy but nothing worked and now it's over. He also said I acted different when he came over before. I told him I was just a little self conscious but I was working on opening up more but he had to give me the chance. Once wouldn't listen, but he still wants to be close friends...

Am I in the wrong here? Is there something I'm missing?

not so blurry this time lol Answered by mustagfan006 on Jun 22, 2009, 11:42PM

I really don't think you are in the wrong on this one. Sounds like you ex-boyfriend was looking for an excuse or something. Relationships are really hard when you have to constantly worry about how you are making the other person feel and thinking that every little thing you say will cause an impact or make them think something. I'm kind of going through the same thing myself and what I have learned is that you have to just calm down and play it cool. Move on a bit if you can, date other people, get out of the house, go to work, and if the other person changes there mind listen.

there is no way that you will be able to know what your partner is thinking before they say it. the best thing you can do is talk with each other and not be nervous to ask questions, bring everything out onto the table and work it out.
