Should I wait for him or move on with my life?

Well,if any of you remember,not too long ago,I posted a message on the website,about a guy that I liked,Tommy.He was my first kiss,and since that day,I've been crazy for him.Him and I,never went out,but I keep wishing.
At times,he would be the kind,where he was "sexually" into me,but nothing more.No relationship-type thing.
On the other hand,about two days ago,Tommy was asking me if I was going to homecoming,and I said I was.Then,he said he needed a date.His first personal choice was to ask this girl,*Carolyn,who I barely know.
So,I go to the dance,and he's with this girl,who I used to be friends with in elementary school.Apparently,Him and Carolyn never went together.So,there's the girl,and Tommy basically all over each other,which made me,yes a bit jealous.They're going out now,which makes me even more sadder.
I remember,getting picked up,at the dance,and being in the car,cryin,' because I was so hurt.I want,so bad for Tommy to be happy,but it unfortunate that I never had the opportunity to go out with him.Who knows if I ever will.What should I do?

Wait around for him 'till he breaks up with this girl?
Or,move on with my life,for now?

Please,I would like to know an opinion.

You say that it is unfortunate that you never had the chance to go out with this guy, but it sounds like a stroke of luck on your part. It's hard not to feel something for your first kiss, but you most likely just liked the idea of him rather than really liking him because of who he is. We've all been there, trust me. The hardest part is realizing this, but once you do, you will be free to move on and to find better things.

Ok my love life has recently been a bit like this...well kind of. I know it's really really hard and trust me I know but if you can move on then move on! Try not to think of the future what so ever and try to just loose contact with Tommy. Even if you do go out you will most likely not stay together for you whole life so you will still have your heart broken at some point. It's better just to move on but I seriously do know how hard it can be! Because some guys are twats and don't know whether they are coming or going, they might like you but not actually want to go out with you so it's best just to move on and find a different guy who does know what he wants (you!).
