I'm in love with my best friend and need some advice here!!

ok so I need some help here..
I've been good friends with this girl for about 4 years, and over the last year we've become really really close to eachother...over those 4 years I've always had a thing for her but I was always real shy to bring it up or...

she had a boyfriend or sumthin. she broke up with her boyfriend about a year ago and since then as I said weve goten real close and about 6 or 7 months ago we wer at a party and I was drunk and basically professed my love, lol. a motnh or so later we wer talkin one night and she said she feels the same way I do and we talked about what we should do and I told her that all she has to do is let me know when shes ready and we can take it to the next level, and she said she that she didnt wana lose me as her best friend and also that im not gona wana g/f when I go away for college since shes staying home so we'll be liek 2 hrs away...so I understood her thinking and it got at me sometimes but I dealt with it...but once summer started it was becomming more of an issue and I could tell she kinda wanted to be together but wasnt quite sure...then about a month ago we we layin down together and started making out after a movie and it was awesome, and since then we have been together but I guess not technically goin out...I really want her to be my girlfriend, but the thing is now is I have less than a month before I go to college and im afraid ill f*ck it up when I am away from her...I look at a few different ways, if we stay like this just dating and I see wether I do good at keepin from screwin it up at college I go ahead ask her out then, or I ask her out before hand so that way I have firm ground to stand on that I have a girlfriend which may make it easier to turn down temptation
I just could use some guidance here because I am really deep in love with this girl and things are goin amazing, so this is the last girl I wana screw up with and IM SO CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT TO DO SO PLEASE ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED!

Hi, If she really is in love with you, equally like each other. Than nothing can break TRUST you have. I think TRUST is the most important. If you are going to college. And, you are in love. You are going to do everything in your power to make her know that. You will visit her every chance you have, call her, text her cute texts, email her, IM with her. Send her pics, Via email or letters...Make her feel like you are practically next door to her, and two hours doesn't diminish the love you have for her. I am a girl, If a guy would act like that towards me, I would be very very very lucky. So, do that...and explain to her that you will be doing just that. She will hopefully trust you. And, if you keep your promise. She'll be happy.

Hey.. your story sounds EXACTLY like the situation I have with my guy best friend of about 6 years! We're great friends, we've hooked up before, and we've talked about a relationship... we spend a lot of time together, but we're not going out since I go to school about 2 hours away, and he stays home for college. We manage to keep our relationship very close without being completely committed to each other, and so far its working out great. Since we love each other so much, it's easy for us to stay close while being away from each other. We both hook up with other people when we're away from each other because, lets face it, it's awfully hard to resist temptation when your loved one is so far away. Even though we sometimes see other people, we both know how much we love each other, and that's what keeps us together. We haven't exactly talked about what will happen after college when we can be fully committed, but I think we both know that our friendship and love is way too strong to ignore, and we'll end up together when its more convenient. I think that your situation is very similar in that if you love this girl and she really is your best friend, then you both know that you have too much in common to ignore. I say go off to college, be single, and have fun. You'll be surprised at how easy it is to remain close to your bff when you're away... and I think that if you guys are meant to be together, then it'll happen as soon as the timing's right. For now, finish off the summer having fun with her... and when school approaches, make sure you two stay connected. You'll end up with one another if its meant to be. Don't worry about a relationship for right now, it's too hard to keep committment when you're so far away from the person that you love, and you wouldn't want to make any mistakes that you might regret while you're away.
