Which chemical is deoxidised

My puppy! =P Asked by youcancallmejess about 1 month ago, 1 answer.

Well in science, I have finished my homework, but I was confused about the way something was worded... ok... well here is a chemical equation:

copper oxide + carbon --- copper + carbon dioxide

and it asked me In the equation, which chemical is...

deoxidised? well I understand what this means, but I don't know whether it means...

that the copper is deoxidised... or if I should write that copper oxide was deoxidised.

Anyone know? lol
