I love him and want him to know!

There is this guy I really like. Lets call him gary. he means so much to me. I can trust him with all my heart and I know he can trust me. he tells me things that he has never told anyone else and I have done the same. He used to know that I liked him...

but then I stoped likeing him. When he knows that I like him then were not as close. but once I dont things are back to normal. My old boyfriend cheated on me and he stuck up for me a lot saying I deserve a lot better than him and he even yelled at the guy for me which I thought was sweet. So basically we have a really good relationship with him. I need advice though. I want him to know that I love him (and I really mean love) but im afraid it will ruin our relationship again. Please help me!

This is really, really difficult. He is willing to open up to you when there is no commitment but the moment your willing to give more he isn't. Personally I would say your either firmly stuck in the friend catagory in his mind or he himself has a deep distrust of relationships. I'm bent on the latter with my belief that it is IMPOSSIBLE (some may feel free to disagree) for men and women to stay just Friends. This little thing called sexual attaction has a way of messing things up. Anyways If I were you I'd take baby, baby steps. Do tiny little things to show it. Don't change they way you deal with him at all. Just do things like smile at him and look straight into his eyes until he turns away, or acciently brush his hand, shoulder, or even better chest. Not all at once mind you just a bit at a time. If he backs off you back off, then re-start. When he gets comfortable with this then its time to think about telling him how you feel. You need to rebuild his trust in women. He already trusts you. There are other things you can do to elaborate in other little things. Guys love cookies, a homemade batch is an I love you that won't be rejected. ^^ You can have a lot of fun with this good luck.
