I just joined the school newspaper and thank the lord I didn't get assigned sports...haha.
anyways you should try to find a good angle for your story. Like pick out a certain student involved in sports or an event that took place that kids would be interested in reading. Try not to just list facts, but show examples.

I just joined the school newspaper writing thing and I got assigned to do sports. any ideas? I kinda want to make it funny but good enought that people will keep reading it.
